The updated Messenger app both for Android and iOS users brought with it the game, which a few app users are already regarding as "more addicting" than the basketball game.
Messenger head David Marcus revealed the news via a Facebook post, saying that the company decided to update the app in honor of Copa America and Euro 2016, thus throwing in a mini soccer game.
How To Play Messenger's Secret Soccer Game
Here is a step-by-step guide on how you can play the soccer game:
2. Send a friend an emoji soccer ball to activate the hidden game.
3. Tap on the sent emoji soccer ball and, presto, the game will launch in seconds.
The goal in playing the game is to keep the soccer ball in the air as
long as possible. To start, you have to hit the ball then continue
tapping to keep the game going. It is also interesting to note that you
can check out the scores of your friends you are chatting with (pretty
exciting!).If you think this game is easy, then you are WRONG. The game, according to those who already gave this soccer game a shot, is in fact difficult.
"It took me a few dozen attempts to get over 10, after which all sorts of distractions appeared on the screen and I immediately dropped the ball," says CNET's Jason Cipriani.
"I'm currently sitting with a personal record of a lowly 11. Embarassing."
